Kogi Seywiaka School Solar Panel Initiative

IMG_0404 (2).HEIC

Solar energy is the future of clean electricity. As such, we are working to repair a photovoltaic solar power system in the Kogi Seywiaka community, which is located in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. The solar system was installed by the Colombian government around a decade ago, but it broke down a few years later due to a lack of maintenance and training.

Currently, we are working with the Colombian solar company Hybrytec to repair the system and provide the Kogi with the access to electricity that they have been lacking. Of course, we will provide a maintenance and education plan that will ensure that the same mistakes that led to the system breaking down in the first place are not repeated.

Please consider donating to help finance this initiative. If you want to read more about solar energy or our trip to the Seywiaka community, go read our blog posts under the Blog tab. Help us energize the Kogi!
