I first heard about the Seywiaka school in 2016 when I launched a fundraiser to help the Arhuaco tribe. I soon realized that Seywiaka was in dire need of help, so I decided to start another fundraiser to aid the community. At the time, I spoke to Duamaco, a Kogi leader within Seywiaka, and he told me that any funds would be directed to the construction of an arts & crafts center.

With this goal in mind, I started selling Kogi mochilas and bracelets at my school in order to raise the required funds. I also started building and selling my own solar-powered flashlights at a school fair. Eventually, I collected an adequate amount, which I transferred to Duamaco.

Once the project was completed, I actually travelled to Palomino in La Guajira and hiked all the way to Seywiaka to see the finished product.
